The Walking Dead:
I really don't like horror. In fact, this may be the only post you'll ever see me create that has anything to do with the subject. However, I don't mind zombies nearly as much, and The Walking Dead seems like an extremely promising concept, one which I'm surprised has taken this long to be made for the little screen.It always seems that in zombie movies, so much more could have been explored. I'd really like to see the survivors survive, instead of constantly running and then ultimately either finding a cure or dying. As a weekly series, The Walking Dead can certainly and most likely will dabble into this premise. So without further adieu, here's the trailer for The Walking Dead.
The Clone Wars: Season 3:
It has been revealed that Quinlan Vos, the fan favorite Star Wars prequels-comic-character, will be appearing in the upcoming season of The Clone Wars with the likes of fellow popular Expanded Universe subjects such as Delta Squad from Republic Commando and the Nightsister from The Courtship of Princess Leia. When and what episode he will be appearing in has yet to be unveiled.It has also been revealed that the next series of online Clone Wars web comics will return to its roots from season 1 and concentrate less on a single story arc, and more on individual happenings of the war. Yay!
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides:
This may not be news to some, but the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie is slated for a 2011 release. The film follows the exploits of none other then Captain Jack Sparrow as he gets a blast from the past when he reacquaints himself with Black Beard's daughter, Angelica, played by Penelope Cruz.Angelica forces Jack onto her father's ship, the Queen Anne's Revenge . The group, joined by none other then Captain Barbossa and Mr. Gibbs, embarks on a quest to locate the legendary Fountain of Youth.
Some of the best news is that both Orlando Bloom and Kierra Knightely will not be appearing in this sequel. Personally, I liked the characters at first, but by the end of the third movie, I was downright sick of them.

ReplyDeleteI cannot tell you how much I appreciated your message!!!! It is a blessing to hear from someone who came out the other end. I am very nervous about this process and hope I am making the right choices. Everyone thinks it is a no brainer because I am/was a teacher- but it is stressful when you are responsible for something you are used to handing over to someone else.
On another note- I haven't watched hardly any of the movies you are talking about. I am a big time whimp!!! My son cannot wait till he is old enough to enjoy that stuff. Were you allowed to watch a lot of T.v movies etc... when you were young? Thanks again for the comment- I am grateful for it!
I remember being introduced to movies and tv shows like Star Wars and Star Trek around the age of 7. My family made a tradition of watching Star Trek every week! My family, principally my father, were partially lenient when it came to watching movies at a younger age.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't until about the age of 11-14 that I was allowed to watch some of the movies listed above such as The Patriot, Shaun of the Dead, The Book of Eli and Braveheart. Some homeschoolers believe that that is also too young to watch movies. However, I remember that I wasn't allowed to watch anything that contained too much sexual content.
On the other hand, I remember that my father, especially early on, would take the time to pause the movies and discuss his views on what was going on, and why he thought it was either wrong, innapropriate or right.
Some of my fondest memories with him was when he would take the time to discuss these things.
Well, I've gone on long enough. :)
I'm a little leery of this one-- since I agree, by the end of the third one I was done w/ the franchise. Though I do like Penelope Cruz- hhhmmm

ReplyDelete@ Elle & Jersey Diva Mom: I agree, the final movie tested my patience and I was completely through with watching Pirates do convaluted things, but I think that most of the causes of our negative feelings either have, or will, be taken into account with this latest installment.

I have to tell you, I am a complete wimp when it comes to horror movies. I end up hyperventilating in the bathroom afraid to come out because you know if you come out EVERYONE will be zombies....seriously? Am I the only one that happens to?

Ha ha! You are not alone! I've gotten better with containing my fear of horror movies, but they can still frighten me at times. I remember watching the Six Sense, and putting up a blanket whenever the dead people would show up. In a way, it actually made things worse.
